Do you charge corkage?
No. You are welcome to supply your own wine with no corkage charge during the wedding breakfast or if you prefer, we can supply this for you. We do supply a cash bar in the evening for your guests.
Do you have a list of preferred suppliers?
Yes. We have a number of recommended suppliers who know the venue and can cater to a range of budgets. Ask us for more details…
When do I have access to the venue?
We want you to have enough time to create the day you wish so weekend hire of Copdock Hall runs from midday Friday until midday Sunday.
Do you offer parking?
Yes. We have parking and guests are able to leave cars overnight although we would encourage them to travel together or share taxis/coaches. We have a Green Travel Plan attached which outlines the various options available. Cars must be collected by Sunday midday for weekend weddings and midday on the day following the wedding for mid-week events. See Green Travel Plan here.
What is included in the hire?
The hire of Copdock Hall includes exclusive use of the venue the day before and the day of your wedding. Tables and chairs for 120 guests are included, car parking, underfloor heating, purpose-built modern toilets, area for outside caterers, a staffed cash bar in the evening, DMX cabling for light effects, in-house music and PA system with three zones, screens to create different settings, an easel for seating plans and wifi.
Our grounds include a terrace for reception drinks, contained sprawling lawns with plenty of space for guests and a safe option for children and a vineyard for photos, next to the 14th century parish church.
We also have a Toureg stretch tent which is available for hire at extra cost.
Can you get married at Copdock Hall?
Yes. We have a wedding licence for civil ceremonies in the Walsingham Room or Copdock Hall barn itself. Registrars charge for conducting the service which is a separate fee paid to Suffolk County Council. You can get more detail on this here. Just across the field is our local parish church of St Peter’s where you can enquire about a Christian service.
What accommodation is nearby?
We can provide you with a list of hotels and self-catering options catering to different budgets and within four miles of the venue.
How many guests can be accommodated at the venue?
Copdock Hall is perfect for intimate weddings but can also accommodate up to 200 seated guests and more in an informal evening setting. It is a very versatile space and can be adapted to suit any size.
Are we allowed to add special effects to the barn?
Yes and No. We are able to provide candles to sit in the windows. We also have cabling for lighting to flood the walls and power on the wooden beams to attach fairy lights. We will listen to any effects you want to introduce…within reason.
Do you offer a wedding planner service?
Yes. In addition to hiring Copdock Hall, we are able to offer a personalised service where we can liaise with you, your families and suppliers to help create the perfect wedding day.
What are the operating hours of Copdock Hall?
The operating hours shall be
08:00 – 23:00 Monday to Thursday,
09:00 – 22.30 Sundays and Bank Holidays,
08:00 – 23:30 Fridays and 08:00 – 00:00 Saturdays. Amplified music must stop at 23.30
What about photos?
You will have free rein to have pictures taken in and around the barn including the vineyard, adjacent grass field and next to the parish church.

How much does it cost?
Let us know when you are planning to hold your wedding/event and we can advise you on price. It depends on year and time of year with January to March being low season and mid-week weddings offered at reduced prices.
